our process for new house designs brisbane
Although we tailor each project individually, these are the main stages of the design process when planning your dream new build
Step 1: Pre-planning discussion
Our Redlands architects have a pre-design meeting with you to create a client brief document. This document will include components like preliminary budgets, sizes, and rooms, and further information about the site where the house will be built.
This meeting and documentation formulates the design requirements to set realistic targets and expectations for the project.

Step 2: Due diligence
Ashcroft Architects undertake a site inspection to review the topography of the site, the breezes, the neighbouring properties, privacy considerations, available views, accessibility, and nearby services.
We will arrange for a survey on your land, identifying a range of features such as the contours, the condition of the soil (geotechnical survey), and any NBN, gas, wastewater or plumbing works.

Step 3: Blueprint designs
Ashcroft Architects design both two-dimensional floor plans of your prospective home, followed by interactive 3D model floor plans.
Once we have created the 2D floor plans, we meet and discuss the ideas behind the design and make any necessary changes that suit your needs. We then incorporate these plans into our 3D software.
Once the exterior and interior designs are complete and approved, we finalise with your selected builder to provide preliminary costs.

Step 4: Approvals and construction
After necessary approvals from the council or other governing bodies, the build begins! The entire process can be overseen by Ashcroft Architects.
For your convenience, we can also schedule weekly site meetings to ensure that the project is running as planned, paying attention to the “feel” of the residence, as well as the finer construction details to assist the builder and to bring your design to fruition.

Testimonials
"We came to Brad with nothing more than some pinterest pictures and some rough ideas of what we wanted for our new home. What he presented to us was perfect. We are so thankful that we engaged Brad to design our home. He took the time to listen and always had a suggestion for our questions. The whole process was simple, and the easy communication ensured that we always knew what was going on. We have no hesitations in recommending Brad to anyone looking for an architecturally designed home."

"Bradley Ashcroft and his team have been designing homes and townhouses for our clients for over 15 years. We find not only is Bradley very approachable and personable with both us and our clients but understands how to design and build to a specific budget. This not only saves a lot of time in the design process, it also saves a lot of heartache for clients from alternate processes where too often builder pricing does not meet with design brief specified outcomes. When builder and designer work together good outcomes are achieved and Grow DDC P/L would recommend Bradley and his team to anyone looking for these types of outcomes in their projects."

"I have worked with Ashcroft Architects for over a decade and have found Bradley Ashcroft to be a very talented and creative architect. Brad and the team at Ashcroft architects consistently provide excellent documentation that clearly describes the project in detail and allows construction to proceed unhindered and in a timely manner.
As a structural engineer it is a pleasure to work alongside an architect that appreciates the structural implications of their vision and works to accommodate solutions within the documentation produced."
